On August 27, the extrusion pelletizing system for PetroChina’s first industrial-scale solution-process POE plant, located at Lanhai New Materials, successfully completed its first trial run. The system was supplied by USEON Technology.
During the trial, all process sections operated smoothly. At 100% design load, all key operating parameters met the specified requirements, and qualified POE pellets were successfully produced, marking the successful completion of the trial objectives.
Following its earlier contribution to Sinopec’s first industrial-scale POE plant, USEON has once again participated in a milestone POE project, supporting the industrialization of POE in China with independently developed extrusion technologies and equipment.
Advancing Key POE Production Processes
POE (Polyolefin Elastomer) is a high-performance polyolefin material valued for its excellent elasticity, weather resistance, and processability. It is widely used in photovoltaic encapsulation films, automotive applications, wire and cable, and high-performance polymer modification.
In industrial-scale solution-process POE production, the extrusion pelletizing system plays a critical role in converting the polymer solution into finished pellets, bridging upstream polymerization with downstream product handling.
The extrusion pelletizing system supplied by USEON integrates multiple key processes, including POE solution feeding, compounding, extrusion, pelletizing, pellet cooling, drying, and screening.
As a critical system in the plant’s commissioning sequence, the extrusion pelletizing line involves one of the most complex interlock configurations among the packaged systems, making its commissioning particularly demanding.
The successful first trial run marks another important step in establishing the complete POE production process and lays a solid foundation for subsequent integrated commissioning and start-up of the entire plant.
From Sinopec to PetroChina
The localization of high-performance polyolefin materials depends not only on advances in polymer and process technologies, but also on the independent development of critical processing equipment.
In recent years, USEON has continued to advance its technologies and engineering capabilities in high-performance polyolefins, large-scale extrusion pelletizing, devolatilization, and reactive extrusion, bringing more domestically developed extrusion solutions from R&D into industrial-scale applications.
From supporting Sinopec’s first industrial-scale POE plant to contributing to the successful trial run of the extrusion pelletizing system for PetroChina’s first industrial-scale POE plant, USEON continues to apply its proprietary technologies to major high-performance polyolefin projects.
Each successful project represents more than an individual milestone. Together, they reflect the growing capabilities of China’s independently developed high-end extrusion equipment in demanding industrial applications.
Innovation is a long journey—and progress is made by moving forward.
USEON will continue to advance extrusion technologies and solutions for high-performance polymers, combining technological innovation with engineering expertise to support the development of China’s high-performance polyolefin industry and the localization of critical processing equipment.
