This Cookie Policy explains which cookies and similar technologies www.useon.com uses and how you can control them. It complements our Privacy Policy.
01
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Websites can also keep data in your browser's local storage or session storage. Session storage is cleared when you close the tab; local storage and cookies remain until they expire or you delete them. Cookies set by our own domain are first-party cookies; cookies set by other services, such as Google, are third-party cookies.
02
Strictly necessary
These keep the website and its forms working and secure. They cannot be switched off on our side.
- Cloudflare security cookies, such as __cf_bm (up to 30 minutes): may be set by our hosting provider Cloudflare to tell people from automated traffic.
- Cloudflare Turnstile: the security check on our inquiry forms loads from challenges.cloudflare.com when you start filling in a form.
- useon:receipt (session storage, single use): confirms on the thank-you page that your inquiry was saved.
- useon:consent:v1 (local storage, 12 months after accepting, 6 months after refusing): remembers your cookie choice. useon:consent-variant:v1 (local storage) remembers which version of the cookie banner you saw, and useon:consent-sent:v1 (session storage) stops the same banner view from being counted twice.
- Cookie banner statistics: when the banner is shown and when you make a choice, we count it anonymously by date, country, banner version and choice. No cookie, IP address or identifier is stored with the count.
03
Preferences and site function
- useon:language-suggestion-until (local storage, 90 days): remembers that you closed the language suggestion bar, so it is not shown again.
- useon:inquiry-journey:v1 (session storage, until the tab is closed or after 30 minutes without activity): keeps a list of up to 24 pages you viewed on this website, so we can see which pages led to an inquiry. It never leaves your browser unless you send an inquiry, and it is not recorded if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal.
04
Advertising and analytics
On www.useon.com the website loads Google Tag Manager, which runs Google Analytics, Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising tags. They measure visits, record when a visit from one of our ads leads to an inquiry or a WhatsApp click, and allow our ads to be shown again to people who have visited the website (remarketing). Typical cookies include:
- _ga, _ga_* (Google Analytics, 2 years): distinguish visitors and sessions.
- _gcl_au, _gcl_aw (Google Ads, 90 days): link ad clicks to inquiries.
- IDE, test_cookie (Google, on doubleclick.net; 13 months and 15 minutes): remarketing and ad personalisation.
- _uetsid, _uetvid, MUID (Microsoft Advertising; 1 day, 13 months and 13 months): link ad clicks to visits and support remarketing.
- useon:enhanced-conversion:v1 (session storage, at most 10 minutes): briefly holds a hashed form of the email address and phone number from your inquiry so that Google Ads can match it to an ad click; deleted when the thank-you page loads.
The exact names and lifetimes are decided by Google and Microsoft and can change. None of these tags load if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal. If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, none of them load until you accept them in our cookie banner, and you can accept analytics and advertising separately.
05
Embedded content and links
Videos on the website are shown as images until you click play. Only then is the YouTube player loaded from youtube-nocookie.com, and YouTube may then store cookies or local data under Google's privacy policy. Exhibition pages show the venue on an embedded Google Map, which loads from google.com when that part of the page scrolls into view; in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland it loads only after you click Show map here. Google may then set cookies under its own privacy policy. All fonts are hosted on our own website; no font files are loaded from Google. Our WhatsApp links open WhatsApp, which applies its own policies.
06
Manage cookies
You can control advertising cookies in several ways:
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, use Cookie settings at the bottom of every page to accept or refuse analytics and advertising cookies, or to change your choice later. Refusing deletes the analytics and advertising cookies set on our domain.
Turn on Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track in your browser. The website then loads no advertising or analytics tags.
Opt out of personalised ads in Google Ad Settings and the Microsoft privacy dashboard, and install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
Block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies or storage may stop the inquiry forms from working.
Instructions for the main browsers:
For other browsers, see the browser's own help pages.
