High-Performance PP + Glass Fiber Compounding (800kg/h)

Project Overview

We are pleased to announce the successful delivery of a high-performance twin-screw extrusion line to a major domestic energy and chemical group. This project was specifically engineered to meet the client’s stringent requirements for compounding Polyolefins with Short/Long Glass Fibers, targeting the high-quality Engineering Plastics market.

The Solution

To address the challenges of glass fiber dispersion and wear resistance, we deployed our U6 Series High-Torque Twin Screw Extruder. With a precise L/D ratio of 44:1 and a 12-barrel configuration, the system ensures optimal melt homogeneity while minimizing fiber degradation.

Key Technical Specifications

  • Robust Powertrain: Powered by a 200kW AC Motor coupled with a genuine German Henschel (TGE65) gearbox, ensuring reliable torque transmission and operational stability.
  • Precision Dosing: Integrated with 4 sets of Loss-in-Weight Feeders (Kubota/Brabender), providing gravimetric control for resins, powders, and fibers to strictly adhere to formulation standards.
  • Optimized Fiber Feeding: Features a dedicated Side Feeder (CWJ58) at Barrel 6, designed to introduce glass fibers into the melt gently, preserving fiber length for maximum mechanical strength.
  • Wear Resistance: Barrels are lined with wear-resistant alloy (45+Cr26MoV), and screw elements are crafted from W6Mo5Cr4V2 tool steel to withstand the abrasive nature of glass fibers.
  • Reliable Pelletizing: The strand pelletizing system, equipped with a heavy-duty Gantry Pelletizer, delivers a consistent throughput of 700 ~ 800 kg/hr.
