High-Performance Thermoplastic Elastomer (SEBS+EVA) Compounding & Pelletizing Line

Project Overview

This project is designed to address the challenges of dispersion and plasticization during the blending of SEBS (Styrenic Thermoplastic Elastomer) and EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate).

The production line utilizes our advanced SAT65 Series Co-rotating Parallel Twin Screw Extruder, integrated with a high-efficiency Water Ring Pelletizing System.

Specifically engineered for high-viscosity and heat-sensitive elastomer materials, this solution ensures uniform particle performance and excellent pellet appearance, achieving stable mass production of high-quality modified elastomers.

Technical Solution & Specifications

  • Equipment Model: SAT65-48 Twin Screw Water Ring Pelletizing Line
  • Core Power: AC 160KW high-torque drive motor, providing powerful shear force to accommodate the conveying of high-viscosity elastomer melts.
  • Screw Speed: 600 rpm high-speed operation, significantly enhancing mixing efficiency and production throughput.
  • L/D Ratio: 48:1 large length-to-diameter ratio. The extended processing section provides ample residence time and reaction space for the complex SEBS+EVA system, ensuring full microscopic fusion of the two polymer phases and greatly improving mechanical properties.
  • Pelletizing Method: Water Ring Pelletizing. Addressing the sticky nature and difficult cooling characteristics of elastomers, the water ring system offers a gentle and efficient cooling path. This effectively eliminates die-face sticking and agglomeration issues, ensuring round and uniform final pellets.

Applications

The modified materials produced by this line are primarily used in:

  • High-end Foaming Shoe Materials: Leveraging the high resilience of SEBS and the lightweight properties of EVA.
  • Soft-Touch Overmolding: Widely used in tool handles, protective cases for electronics, etc.
  • Impact Modifiers: Serving as toughening agents for engineering plastics.
